Waste
Buster and "Socialist Control"
The
"Waste Busters" should say what happened to the
thousand or more suggestions it received since its kickoff.
The pride of the government websites has finally posted
just nine "samples
of the more popular topics."
The
brains behind the Waste Busters posted one "sample
submission" to eliminate
school boards because "Such a step will help to
eliminate the Socialist control of BC's School System."
Aren't you happy that tax dollars are being used to post
such nonsense on a government website.
Up until
a week ago the Waste Buster website was promising to post
a page showing "What we
are hearing and how ministries are responding."
Under that heading nothing but a promise for future content
appeared. Now that page has been replaced with "Submissions:
Popular topics" and a list of nine submissions and
the responses. Patronizing is probably the most accurate
description for most of the responses, but when one reads
the submissions little more could be expected.
One
of the nine sample submissions involves duplication of payment
notices and the possibility of some minor savings. Nothing
is wrong with any savings, but it will be interesting to
see how any savings compares to the cost of operating the
high tech suggestion box.
